The Loyalist Plantation: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Informing Early African-Nova Scotian Settlement

On Wednesday, February 19th the Royal Nova Scotian Historical Society will be hosting its next public lecture. This month's lecturer is Dr. Catherine Cottreau-Robbins, the Curator of Archaeology for the Nova Scotia Museum. The lecture is entitled The Loyalist Plantation: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Informing Early African-Nova Scotian Settlement and will discuss loyalist settlement specifically focusing on the migration of one family in Massachusetts and their servants which included enslaved Black Loyalists. The main focus point of this discussion will be the Loyalist Plantation and proposes to help inform the landscape of Slavery in Nova Scotia in the 18th century.
