On February 20th the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia will be holding its next public lecture. This month's lecture will focus on the decline of the the liquor trade in Halifax between 1880 and the prohibition of WWI. The talk will focus on the regulations of the Temperance Lobby which was working tirelessly through these years to curb the trade and will also profile the retailers of the period. There will be several pictures on display which will show both the establishments and their advertisements from the period.
The lecture is free and will take place at 7:30p at the Museum of Natural History. More information may be found here.
