RNSHS Public Lecture Series

The Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society is hosting its next installment of the its monthly lecture series on December 11th. The lecturer will be Dr. Sally Ross and the lecture is entitled Acadian Cemeteries in Nova Scotia: Changing Cultural Landscapes. Dr. Ross will be exploring ideas that came out of her 2003 field work on 60 post-deportation cemeteries. Recognizing that cemeteries are cultural landscapes and reflect the communities in which they are set up, her lecture will center around the changing styles, regional quirks, symbolism and what these say about the communities around them.

The lecture will begin at 7:30pm at the Nova Scotia Archives at 6016 University Ave.
