On the outside of the Mines: Songs of Coal Folk

On April 23rd the Helen Creighton Folklore Society will be presenting a night of folksongs and history in conjunction with presenter Alexis White. Through the examination of 7 folksongs of Nova Scotian coal miners Alexis will be leading a discussion on the lives of the provinces coal miners from 1900-1970 including their family lives, financial strains, deaths and unionization efforts. The talk will commence at 7pm at Alderney Landing Public Library.
